PLATEAU STATE TEQBALL ASSOCIATION ENDS A ONE DAY COACHES TRAINING AMIDST GREAT EXPECTATIONS
The Plateau State Teqball Association (PLATEQ) on Thursday had its first training and seminar for grassroots coaches to educate and adequately equip the coaches on technicality and all what teqball is all about.
The impactful event, which was attended by some selected coaches but in few weeks time will be extended to other coaches across the seventeen local government areas of the State, which had the Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Sunday Samson Longbap in attendance and the Plateau State Director of Sports, Simon Moven with a brief appearance, had the PLATEQ Chairman, Miri Timnan Nyantau encouraging the participants to grabs this opportunity and make a positive statement by making the sport thrive on the Plateau by putting everything they’ve learnt into positive practice.
Chief Miri advised the coaches to marry their instructional materials provided to them by the Association and transmit the knowledge to their players.
In a separate remark, the Chairman of the Plateau Stare football Association Hon. Sunday Samson Longbap congratulated and applauded the Plateau State Teqball Executives that includes the Vice Chairman, Sammy Adesoji and the Secretary, Stephen M. Paul, under the leadership Of Chief Miri Timnan Nyantau for the deliberate action taken to create immense awareness of teqball in the state. In his words: “I’m full of admiration to this Sport and I promise to work closely with this Pioneer EXCO to sustain teqball In Plateau State” he said as a father of football in Plateau, teqball will gain popularity and the needed attention just as it has been given to football. Hon. Longbap Promise to Support the Association with three balls for training.
Responding on behalf of the Coaches, Queen Kwashi praised the Plateau State Teqball Association for their efforts and commitment to this great Project. According to her, “From been an athlete until this moment that I become a coach,I cannot remember the last time I attended a course and receive Instructional materials, T-shirt, Cap, Pen, lunch without any payment. We are challenged to go out there and put everything we have learnt into action.”
The training exercise which lasted for more than ten hours, had in attendance the friends of some Teqball friends in the State which includes Barr. Zingman D. Selven, Journalists, Coaches and the Entire PLATEQ EXCO.
